This was originally a side dish, but as it’s very rich and there are just two of us, I now make it as a complete meal, like I do Mac ‘n Cheese.
One of my favorite go to dinner recipes is a 3 pan stove top chicken dinner. Lets get at it.
For the meatballs:
This is not a recipe. This is just an overview of how I make roasted turkey, with tips gleaned from decades of doing it up to three times a year. This might be (is) more work than many people can afford to put into a meal, but I hope there are ideas and guidelines everyone can use.
I’m sorta known in my circle for being able to take a bunch of stuff and create a meal. Over the years, I have written out over 100 recipes on request and sent them to friends/family.
Sorry I’ve been away a while, things are kinda nutty at Casa Butt Pocket these days. Also, I counted recently and I’ve posted about 30 recipes on here over the last few years and even while there are some I rarely, if ever, use anymore; that’s a pretty solid repertoire to play with and alter in subtle ways that don’t…
These are the easiest thing to make, but taste and look fancy enough for gifts or company.
The restaurant industry is an entertainment industry. It is about smoke and mirrors and it is very good at it. Kitchen Bitches was a feminist conference as well as an industry event meant to address the toxic culture of professional restaurants and it’s impact on women in the industry.
Does anyone know of meal planning apps that allow you to have more than three meals a day? I’m not looking for something like MyFitnessPal, but rather something that will allow me to construct shopping lists. Pepperplate only has three meals :(
I call this by that name because it uses saffron, which is expensive upfront. If you already have some, this dish is actually not too hard on the budget, and is super easy. Think of it this way, a 2 gram box of saffron cost me $7.99, but I can use it to flavour a dish like this four times. That’s no more than a large…
I’m gonna have hotdogs thermidor or whatever i can scrounge up.
Yum! happened because I don’t actually like White Zinfandel very much. We were entertaining two weeks ago, and someone who isn’t a big drinker brought over a bottle of White Zinfandel to drink herself and left half the bottle in our fridge.
I promised redpanda this recipe, and enough people starred my summarized recipe that I thought I’d post it. I got it from a magazine like “Cottage Life” about 20 years ago, and it’s one of my go-to recipes for potlucks. Makes 8 cups. 2 cups/500 ml small pasta (bow ties, rotini, whatever) cook as per package…
Mr lurker brought home a bag of lamb hearts on what I can only call a whim. Anybody got recipes or suggestions?
I want a baked potato with cheese and sour cream. I only have medium size red potatoes. Every online recipe is all about Rosemary olive oil and I just want a potato. How long do I bake it for at what temp and do I just put fork holes in it or do I need to actually put some oil on it and stuff.
In about ten days, T’other and I will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of our first date. Two things make this significant: we were friends before we were dating, so to even know the transition date is cool, and; T’other is the one who remembered it from the start.
Now I’m thinking I should have taken a picture of it for you, but I ate it before I thought about sharing it.
UPFRONT: A major component of this is a vinegar mint sauce such as Crosse and Blackwell. I don’t know of a substitute.
