I'm making steamed mussels for the BF but I just realized I don't have white wine. What would be the best substitute? I have vodka and dry vermouth. I also have sake, but eh. (I have a bunch of other alcohols but they are dark/wouldn't mix well with the rest of the recipe).

UPDATE: Thanks for the advice. I went with vermouth. BF is currently in a food coma. If you are interested I used this recipe (Ina! Hey, girl hey!). Only modifications I made were I only made a pound of mussels and I didn't have any fresh lemons so I julienned a few preserved lemon slices and added a tsp of champagne vinegar. It smells really good. Too bad I hate seafood :-/
