Ham, potato, and cheese quiche

Illustration for article titled Ham, potato, and cheese quiche

Yep. As recipes go, this is fairly pedestrian, but it’s tasty and easy and my human likes it. Also, my human got me a mandoline for Christmas so I like using it. Today I used Land O Lakes 4 cheese Italian, because that shit’s delicious, and some honey ham

1 batch Bumble Has No Idea What She’s Doing pie dough (6 tablespoons of butter cut into 1 cup flour, enough water added tablespoon by tablespoon to form a shaggy mass, knead mass into a ball. Place ball into a gallon ziplock bag, place bag on the floor. Place cutting board over the bag, step down gently. This should flatten the dough into a generally uniform thickness. Pop the dough bag into the freezer for...6-8 minutes), placed in your pie pan.

Or, more efficiently, frozen, premade pie crust.

1 Russett potato, par cooked in the microwave (High for 4 minutes), cut into 1/8th inch slices. We won’t be using the whole thing.

4 Scrambled Eggs, heavily seasoned with McCormick’s Onion Steakburger seasoning and lightened with 1-2 tablespoons milk

1/2 lb LOL 4 chiz Italian, sliced

1/2 lb Generic Honey Ham, sliced

In any case, all we do is place one layer ham, one layer cheese, and one layer potato, until you’ve filled the crust. Make sure you get a layer of cheese on top, Pour over the eggs, tilting the pan around to get the egg into all the nooks and crannies. Bake at 400 F for 20 minutes, with the top indifferently covered by a sheet of aluminum foil. After the 20 minutes has passed, remove the foil, and bake another 5-6 minutes to brown the cheese on top. Let cool, then FEAST!!!

Serves 4 with a side salad, or 8 Bumbles.*

*My human says that kitties always seem to eat half as much as “normal creatures,” whatever “normal” means.
